Fuzzy controller hardware implementation for an EV's HESS energy management

The recent technological advances related to embedded systems, and the increased requirements of Electric Vehicle (EV) industry, lead evolution design validation methodologies applied complex in order a product that respects defined according its performance, safety, reliability. This research paper presents methodology, based on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) approach, including software platform represented by Matlab/ Simulink real-time STM32 microcontroller used as hardware platform. objective this work is evaluate validate an Energy Management System (EMS) Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC), developed C code microcontroller. EMS designed control, real-time, energy flow hybrid storage system (HESS), active topology, made Li-ion battery Super-Capacitors (SC). proposed HESS model was organized using Energetic Macroscopic Representation (EMR) constructed Matlab/Simulink evaluation algorithm were performed comparing HIL simulation results under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
